A year from your request, not sure if the app changed meanwhile.

What I notice is that even if I have my Apple Watch series 7 set to 'Always on', the metrics displayed on the screen update only on wrist up or clicking on a physical button. The built in Workout app by apple works differently (better in that regard): the screen updates constantly, but milliseconds are shown only on wrist up (or maybe different movement).

I also feel that the current watch app doesn't show well the current status: I need to basically stop at the end of a lane, press a button and read to see where I stand with my workout. Pretty pointless for a guided workout.

    Hello all,

    Thank you for contacting Swim.com.

We regret that you are having this issue.

When the watch is set to Always On mode, the function works well when the screen is bright, but when the screen is slightly dull, Always On mode does not function to conserve battery life.
Nonetheless, we'll work to review and research this function in order to enhance it for a better app experience.

Please let us know if we can assist any further.

    Have a great day!
