App refuses to install on Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro SM-R365
I use the Swim.com-App for quite a while on my Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro SM-R365. In my opinion the best swimming app for this wearable since it properly tracks the pool lanes. Recently I had to reset the watch and reinstalled all the apps. Unfortunately the Swim.com App downloads but refuses to install. It reads: "Installation failure. Try again later (WO:WO:9079)". I tried about 20 times now but it won't work. I guess I had an older version installed before and the current one doesn't work. I tried resetting the watch as well as the Galaxy store but that didn't do the trick. It would be great to get some help via the forum! Thank you!

Folks - here is a quick update (March 2, 2021):
Samsung engineering is reviewing the logs that have been provided and the issues has been escalated within Samsung. I have a meeting with them this evening and hope to follow up with a more detailed update (and some good news!) by tomorrow.
Update (March 4th 2021):
Samsung engineering has found an issue with the way the app is packaged and signed. We now believe the fix to is to rebuild the Swim.com app under an older version of Tizen Studio (the Dev environment we use to build the Swim.com app) and resubmit the app for expedited review. We are looking to complete this by end of this week. Stay tuned and thanks to everyone for their patience.Update (March 9th 2021):
The fix for the Gear Fit2 app has been submitted to the Samsung App Store and is undergoing expedited review. I will announce (here), once the app has been approved for release.Update (March 10th 2021):
A new version of the Gear Fit2 Pro was released today. If some of the folks could on this thread could test and confirm the issue has been resolved, that would be greatly appreciated!Update (March 17th 2021):
A new version of the Gear Fit2 Pro app was released which should fix the crash issue some users were experiencing. Please update and let us know how it goes! -
I have the same problem.

I also have this issue. Very frustrating, as I enjoy the app very much. Strange thing though, I tried it from an Apple device and it installed ok. I think there is something going on with particular Android versions. I have a Note 8. What devices do you have? If there were a way to sideload the app, I would do it. Trying to figure out how to get the apk equivalent file for the app. I have gotten no response from swim.com support on the issue.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S9+ with Android 10 installed. APK file does not work since the watch has no USB-Port and the only way to install Apps is the Wearable store. I tried it with the developer mode but was not able to transfer an APK file. Would be nice if the swim.com developers could fix that problem.

Well, there goes my "Android version" theory. I'm on Android 9 and now I know that upgrading my phone is unlikely to fix it. I wonder if anyone is having this issue with the app on the Galaxy Active 2 or one of the other Samsung wearables. @Swim.com, please fix this problem. You have a great app if we could only install it.

I solve the problem by doing phone downgrade.
I used the galaxy note 5 and recently I bought Note 20 5G. The application does not work with this android version 11 so I return to the Note 5 and connected my gear fit2 pro with him and now it work perfectly.
Yes, I know that I can not use it with my new phone but actually I use my Gear S3 for daily use and the Gear fit2 pro is only for the pool. If you used it in daily basis you are still stuck with the problem.0 -
It appears to be a compatibility issue with Samsumg phones.
I opened a ticket (january, 29) and was given the following answers:
"I think that issue might be related to asetting we have enable or disabel in our Samsng developer account that alows or disallows certain phone models form installing the app. I wil reach out to our engenierers to see if they can remedy the issue as soon as possible". (february ,1st)
"Our developers have reached out to Samsung in order to try to fix the issue and I will let you know once I hear anything back regardin this matter". (february, 3th)
"Unfortunately I do not have nay update a this time. I am still waiting for information from Samsung and our lead developer about this" (february, 18)
I thnk it would be convenient for everyone to do the same, opening a ticket (in app: settings\support\tickets) in order to charge and expedite measures to solve the problem.

Hi everyone. We are working with Samsung to figure out what the issue is. They have asked us to try and collect a log dump from a few of the devices that are not able to install the Swim.com app. Would any of you be willing to follow the below instructions and then send the ZIP file to support@swim.com with the subject link of "Gear Fit2 Pro Log Dump"?
Thanks in advance! We hope to get this resolved ASAP.
Instructions
1. Open Settings>Gear Info>About Device2 . Scroll down to Serial Number and tap on it five times3. (The number pad appears), enter *#9900#4. Select Run LOG_DUMP5. Connect to the Gear Fit2 via Tizen Studio6. In Tizen Studio file explorer, select the log_dump file in /opt/usr/media/SLP_Debug/ and “pull” the file0 -
John,
I generated the log dump file, but I can not connect connect the my gear fit2 pro via Tizen. Could you help me with the instructions to do that?

Tengo el mismo problema: He generado el fichero "log_dump" pero no encuentro la aplicación Tizen Studio para poder transferir dicho fichero al móvil y enviarlo

For those not able to use Tizen Studio, here is an alternate method to try:
To get Watch’s log
- Connect watch with Phone using Bluetooth
- Run Dialer in Watch
- Press *#9900# and “Log dump” app will launch
- Select “Run LOG_DUMP” and wait for few minutes until it finishes.
- Select “Extract LOG_DUMP” and wait for few minutes until it finishes.
- Connect the PHONE with your PC using USB cable
- Locate “Pictures” folder in Phone storage and copy “Watch” folder
- You will find the logs in zip file.

Tizen connection finally worked! I sent the files by email as recommended. I hope it can help to remedy the problem.
Thanks John!

- He vinculado mi Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro al nuevo móvil Motorola

Thanks Peter I wish I'd seen this sooner and I would have been part of the solution. I was just Googling for anyone who has the (WO:WO:9079) error and saw this

Hello guys,
Today swim.com released an update to the watch on the Galaxy Store for the watch (version 2.1.2).
I just installed it and apparently everything is ok!
Thank you for your effort to help us John!1 -
Folks - just making sure everyone sees the "official" post above. We believe the issue has been resolved and it seems Denis has confirmed it's now working! Can others also confirm the issue has been resolved?

John. Unfortunately I'm not as lucky as Denis. My install now succeeds but the watch app won't launch so I STILL can't get it paired. I tried to download the log file as per the non-Studio method and I could generate the log file but it refused to copy to phone. Just stuck on 0% during the transfer. I'm willing to try Studio to get a log to you but I don't know which packages to install after installing Studio. I don't have the option of using another device only my S9.

Thx for your efforts to solve the problem. Really appreciate it, that you finally took care of this. Just a quick update from my side. I am now able to transfer and install the app on the wearable. Only I am not able to start the app. When I press on the app icon it reacts but the app is not opening. When I tried it via the Galaxy store also no reaction. Would be great if you could solve the problem. Thank you very much!

Peter and others, please see my update at the top.

I can only see an update on March 10 none.since. It appears neither Peter or myself can launch the watch app John. I'm prepared to get log files but need to understand which packages to install in Studio as outlined in my previous post

I also cannot get the Swim app to launch on my Gear Fit 2 Pro. It seems to have installed ok as it appears on the app list but will not launch when pressed. So cannot pair with phone. Galaxy S10+ Android 11.

Installed todays version and was able to pair it up no problem. Seems to work great. Thanks for the latest update!

Great Greg
Finally 3 months after buying the watch specifically for this app ( and the fact it's not a massive men's chunky brick on a strap) and waiting 2 years for the price of this to come down to a sensible level .. I might finally when this seemingly endless lockdown ends.. be able to actually try it. I've at least been able to delete my review from Samsung Galaxy App store
HAPPY DAY

Glad to hear it's working folks! After you swim, please let us know how it goes. The Gear Fit2 Pro is one of my favorite devices, in part, because the display is to bright and easy to read! Happy swimming!
