With any device-recorded or manually entered activity that you add to your Swim.com feed, whether it's a lap swim, open water swim, or cross-training activity, you can assign additional details to the activity such as if it was a workout or a race as well as a perceived effort rating. There is also an area to add notes to the activity, so you can reference back to them if needed.
To add these details, select the activity from your feed, then touch the settings icon that appears near the top of the screen. This will bring up the Edit Activity menu.
Once the Edit Activity menu is open, swipe up on the screen to reveal more options.
These additional details allow you to assign the type (race or workout), make it private (only you can see this activity on the Swim.com app if it is private), as well as a perceived effort scale and an area to add notes relevant to the activity (how you might have been feeling that day, or anything of note that happened during the activity).
Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE) is a widely used and reliable indicator to monitor and guide exercise intensity. This scale allows you to subjectively rate your level of exertion during an activity. This feature is especially useful if you are not using a device to capture your heart rate.
