Currently, custom workouts can be created by using the mobile version of Swim.com on your mobile phone.
Step 1:
Open swim.com on your mobile phone
Step 2:
Select "Discover" from the list of options at the bottom of the screen, then select "Workouts" from the subheader near the top of the screen.
Step 3:
Click on the "+" symbol in the upper right corner of the Workouts screen
Step 4:
Enter a title for your custom workout, select the course length, and set on/off sliders for private and auto pace. Entering a description is optional.
Step 5: The custom workout build process begins with the "warm up" portion of your workout. You can either create a custom warm-up (tap the area on the screen indicated to open the custom set editor) or choose from several templates which can be selected by scrolling down and touching the template and then selecting "Select this set". These templates can also be customized if you select "customize this set".
The template sets can be deleted by swiping the interval to the left. Edits can be made by touching the "edit" option just above your selected warmup set. When you are done customizing your warmup sets, click on the check mark (✓) located at the upper right of the screen. This will save your changes.
Step 6:
Once your warm-up set is entered, the app will be ready for you to input your main set. Again, you can either enter a custom workout or select from a collection of template workouts. Follow the same process as you did for creating your custom warm up set (adding intervals, deleting intervals, changing distance, duration, stroke type, etc.).
Step 7:
Click on the check mark (✓) located at the upper right of the screen when you are done making changes. This will save your main set.
Step 8:
Add more main sets by clicking on "+ Add another main set" and creating the intervals within this set.
Step 9:
If you do not wish to add more main sets, move on to the customization step of your cool down set. Follow the same process as above. When you are through with you changes, click on the check mark (✓) located at the upper right of the screen.
Step 10:
If you would like to modify any of the intervals within the warmup, main sets, or cool down components of your workout, click on "Edit" located to the right of each components title. This will open this part of your custom workout and allow you to make changes. When are done making changes, click on the check mark (✓) located at the upper right of the screen. You will exit the customization screens and see the overview of the workout you just created.
Step 11:
From here there are two options:
1) Selecting "Swim this Workout" will give you two options: A) Workout PDF, which will generate a printable PDF. You can also just screenshot this PDF or save the file to your phone for future reference on the pool deck. B) Choosing log Swim from Workout will log a new manual workout entry, using the workout template as a guideline. This swim entry can be edited to reflect your actual times. To do this, choose "View Swim Details", then select the edit icon in the upper right corner.
2) Selecting the 3 small dots located at the upper right of the screen will allow you to choose 1 of 3 options for the workout - "Unfavorite", "Workout Settings" which allows full edit to the workout template, or "Delete Workout". "Unfavoriting" a workout will remove it from your list of favorites, which makes it ineligible to export to the Swim.com app on your smartwatch and removes quick access to viewing the workout on your mobile phone.
